BRECKSVILLE – You can sense it. Butterflies are building up in the bellies of football players tonight because when the alarm on their phones go off bright and early tomorrow morning it will be good-bye summer and hello football.
For some, mostly the wily veterans, this is old hat. But still butterflies may be present. Or at least excitement. For the younger guys they may have some restless hours in the sack because it could be their very first foray into the two-week grind that is two-a-days.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights begins with a team meeting at 8:00 am. At 8:30 they hit the newly laid artificial turf at Community Stadium for their first session. A second practice will be held at 12:30. Helmets and meshes will be the dress code.
Vegas wouldn’t give odds that Bees head coach Jason Black will be the first to arrive at his field house office Saturday morning. The only line was at what time? The over/under is 5:30 am. I’ll take the under.
With opening night a month away let’s take a week-by-week look at Brecksville’s schedule and at those of their ten opponents. Both the non-conference foes and of the teams in the Suburban League (National Division).
